I have a Benq 800 and 1620, both in Coolmax FW/USB 2 enclosures (from Newegg) and they work fine on either chip. For firmware upgrades I have to connect them by USB. I tried to flash the 1620 while connected by FW but it did not work. Switching the connection to USB 2 did work.
