As you see from alot of the posts media plays a large part in this. Just because you tried a different brand means nothing. I suggest you read a little about media here at cdfreaks and familiarize yourself with what is good. Also price usually means nothing.
As I said before if your system is up to snuff media is the problem. If your system is kind of slow you might have to shut down programs running in the background, and keep the drive defragmented. Depending on what im doing I defrag daily or close to it.
