Well, I foudn out in my case, it is because the recording isnt enabled. Before the record tab could be found in properties of the dvd drive, but now it isn't there to either disable or enable it, so I guess its at the default of disable, as XP cant read that it can record. I am currently trying to get the record tab back on, and unfortunaly I cant find any drivers that would encourage XP to read its capabilities. I am going to play about with the ID cables, and the master switch, because i'm out of ideas.
