hi, i am a newbie to this board.
i have been burning cd's for a while now.
i have had this problem before, with no resolve so i thought maybe
someone here could help me really solve it this time.
most cd's i do have no problems at all with my process below but ...
occassionally i have a cd that i rip that does ...
process i do ...
read source cd using audiograbber to get .wav files
use cdrcue sheet editor to generate .cue file with .wav file entries
then burn cue/wav files with alcohol ...
i use cd-r 700m ... the burner is teac 540e ...
THE problem is ...
sometimes a cd i burn will have the songs cut in the wrong places!!!!
i keep the .wav files on my pc and play them and they appear to be ok.
so they must have been ripped ok.
the cue file i generate is just made up of the .wav files ...
example ... below
TITLE "Let It Be"
PERFORMER "The Beatles"
FILE "G:\My Music\The Beatles\Let It Be\The Beatles - 01 - Two Of Us.wav" WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TITLE "The Beatles - 01 - Two Of Us"
FILE "G:\My Music\The Beatles\Let It Be\The Beatles - 02 - Dig A Pony.wav" WAVE
TRACK 02 AUDIO
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TITLE "The Beatles - 02 - Dig A Pony"
doesn't appear to be anything wrong there
but using alcohol to burn a cd-r or a cd-rw and playing it on any cd player
has a problem. the songs are cut in the wrong places. example the 5th
track on the burnt cd-r starts with the 1st track song somewhere in the middle of it and many other songs are also messed up.
to solve this problem last time, i just took the .wav files directly into
nero,
compiled my own cd-r and burnt the cd-r. that worked. but i would like to know what is going on here and what i could be doing wrong!!!
the drawback to using nero is that you don't get a cue file that you can easily use to burn a cd-r quickly. you have to load all the files and
go through the compile process each time. a cue sheet editor is so much faster and is easily generated using cdrcue sheet editor.
is there anything stored in .wav files that could cause this error.
please help
