I've been through many threads in these forums, and after reading tons of information, I purchased The Liteon 52327s, and the Lite on 166 DVD reader. "GeekDeal" in Ebay has a package (only in Black) of these two units, along with a floppy drive...all for 69 bucks. Anyway, I tried copying "IGI2", which uses SafeDisc 2.8 I believe. I used Alcohol 120% to make the Copies, Using Maxwell CD-R Pro Blanks (which I found where it's recommended...(certain brands of discs work better with the LIteon units). I set Alcohol to the Safedisc 2/3 settings, and read the disc from the DVD drive...(which someone in here said they'd had great results with this reader picking up many different types of copy protection) and transferred it to the hard drive/image. I then copied the Image to the 52327 Burner, again using Alcohol. Ok. I installed the game on my moms computer as a test (from the newly made disc's), and to my delight, it ran perfectly, with No Emulation!
It certainly paid for me to read for a few weeks on this subject before purchasing and then trying out making copies...It's for my nephew, who has destroyed more original game disc's than you can imagine! Jeeze! So, I've been on a mission! LOL (learning now this very interesting area of computers) I'm going to try to copy his games over to blanks so the originals will no longer be lost.
