I just switched my drive from slave to master, reinstalled it in the FW/USB enclosure, booted up, and it was recognized by the computer for what it was. Seems to be working fine, although I still cannot write at 8X to the Ritek/Ricoh 8X discs. I am going to test it with a Maxell 4X to which I wrote at 8X when it was on the USB 2 port.
