it's the truth, that you can't trust anything. But how to read out the MID-Codes before buying a DVDR ??? Perhaps it would be a good idea, that the manufaturer has to be named on every DVD, so that you can definitely identify the media.

There is a German website, where you can look up which media is manufactured by which manufacturer.
