This is a very interesting thread about 'ASPI'. So I'll sticky it. I've said for some time now that, with one or two exceptions, that Adaptec's ASPI is for Adaptec products! I, too, groan at the "install the latest ASPI" advice.

Perhaps to add a little more, I'd be interested in both (even fengtao for a third) your opinions on Microsoft's SCSI Passthrough Interface which some people might more easily recognise as SPTI
