.Most DVD players have a setting for the area that it was sold in(e.g.USA is Region 1) Some DVD region settings can be changed,some cannot. To convert DVDs for a particular region,search the DVD forums within this site,you be able to find a conversion software. If not,if you rip a DVD,and re-author it with TMPG ENC encoder,it has a setting for both NTSC and PAL . The software can be found at www.pegasys-inc.com. Good Luck
