CloneDVD was developed specifically with stand alone player compatibiliy in mind, and professional tools like Philips' DVD Verifier and UDF Verifier were used for quality assurance.
Unfortunately this still doesn't really guarantee 100% success, but I'm happy to hear that in your case it was worth the effort.
