I used the "Protected Pc Game" profile in Clone CD to back up Nascar 2003 (Safe Disc 2.8x) with a Lite On 52x24x52x.
The only modification I made was to slow it down to 4x when burning (just in case).

It played fine on my 6x dvd rom after I enabled "Hide CD-R Media".

I didn't think my old 6x DVD could report ATIP, but I guess it may be able to.
