| Stumbled upon the fourm looking for a way to burn a mixed cd that had been ripped into seperate MP3 tracks. Found the answers to my questions here, and decided to take a longer look around. I like the place, and occasionally read the board. I don't reply a whole lot, but I've only been a member for a very short time now.
As far as myself goes...I've been into computers for about five years now. I've learned everything on my own, having no formal schooling or other training. I eventually want to pursue some sort of computer-related degree to advance my career, but that is sitting on back burner for the time being. I currently work at a university doing tech support for our ethernet and cable systems, as well as any other sort of support anyone would need. I also do side work for anyone who comes up to me and asks. It gives me some nice pocket change. I don't advertise, as I work strictly by word of mouth, but might be something I would like to expand on in the near future.
Systems I currently own:
Workstation: AMD 1.0Ghz @1.4 (10 X 140), Iwill KK266, using onboard sound, 512MB Crucial PC 133, Geforce 2 TI, 20 Gig IBM 75GXP (Knock on wood it's not one of the failures), Plextor 12/10/32A CD burner, Windows XP Pro
Server: Intel PIII 550 @ 700, 512MB Crucial PC 133, TNT2 M64, 40 Gig IBM 75GXP (same as above....I consider myself lucky), Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Laptop: Dell Inspiron 7000 (I think. I cannot recall the exact model) w/ PII 366, 256MB PC 100, 8 GB HDD, & crappy ATI Graphics.
That's about it. I plan on expanding my network in the future...but...that's after I get married. My fiancee deals with my obsession quite nicely...but we'll see when we're actually living together...heh. |
