I think beause not everyone uses a PC (or HTPC) to watch their blu-ray movies. For me, I use my PC only to "review" the blu-ray (usually from HD video source) and if I want to enjoy it (either blu-ray movies or burned from other HD source), I will watch it on my blu-ray player and crank up the volume of my audio system.

But TCAS has a good point, I think until Blu-ray disc becomes inexpensive, we can always back them up in harddrive and burn it later. But even that, a 1TB harddrive can only store about 20-ish blu-ray movies.
