Well IIRC LiteOn drives can be switched to RPC1 without any ROM hacking and have good rip speeds too, there wouldn't be much point. Support for a particular firmware version doesn't happen by accident and takes a lot of work. I think it's safe to assume that LiteOn DVD-ROM drives aren't supported.
