| Re: DVRFlash 2.1 Released! I can't seem to find a DVRFlash guide and I cannot register at RPC1 for some reason to ask over there. The guide _chef_ refers to is for MCSE and patching the Pioneer flasher (I think); not for using DVRFlash. Here's what I'm trying to determine:
If I flash a 215D to 215L using MCSE patched firmware, can I go back using the stock (or patched) 215D firmware and kernel? Not sure why or if I'd want or need to, but I'd like to know before I flash the drive just in case. I have S0814000.118 and S0814001.118 which I believe are the 215D firmware and kernel files, yes?
After patching, MCSE saves the files with "_speedpatched" added to the name. Can I flash (with DVRFlash) with that name or do I need to rename the file back to its original 8.3 name?
With all the disclaimers about patching voiding the warranty, assuming the answer to my first question is that you CAN go back to the original firmware, doesn't that mitigate the voided warranty situation?
Thanks.
