Hi bnestor
Thanks for posting all the info from devfilter. You have quite a few filters with hooks into your drives and I suspect this may be [b]part[b] of the problem, but some users with SATA hard drives many versions back reported drive recognition problems; I have not seen this reported in some time however.
As to the filters, it is usually easy to determine if one is causing a problem, but let me caution you this is not for the fainthearted and you must back up your registry before beginning (or set a system restore point). Rather than use the registry editor, ImgBurn (free) has a great utility built-in that will let you delete the filters one by one, so if you don't have it, download the latest version (2.4.1.0 I think) and install it. Here is a
link. Set the system restore point
now; from here on you proceed at your own risk. I have done this many times even without a restore point without problems, but your system may react differently. If this does not help, you may need to re-install the software that set the filters to restore it to operation, or use the restore point to get back to where you started.
Open ImgBurn and select Tools->Filter Driver Load Order; a screen similar to devfilter will appear, with the addition of a button on the lower left that deletes the highlighted filter. You can leave any of the microsoft filters, I have the ones you have on my machine and they cause no problems. I also had PxHelp20 at one time but deleted it because I don't use that software. I had no problems with it installed but others have reported problems. Each system if different. I would delete the others one at a time and try
DVDFab and see if the behaviour changes. I notice you have lots of Elby stuff installed. Maybe you should aske their support if there are any known conflicts.
This may not be the best way to do this, it is just the way that I have done it in the past. Hope it helps you. Here are some links that deal with filter drivers; you might want to read them before starting:

and there are more on google and here on CDF that can be found with the search function.
