This had provided no problems for me and I am able to open the disc right after backing up..

I will have to try and use one of the externals that I had problems with and see if these are good back ups as well.

Thanks for the advice
its the media they they changed it. the older memorex that burned perfectly was in the 10 dvd cake box
media id: Ritek S0-04-01
the nrew media they used in the 25 & 50 cakeboxes are Ritek S0-04-42 (but some burners picked em up as S04-066 which is wrong if u check with VSo's inquiry util..
i too purchased 100 of these and was sent and extra 50 by memorex. i've tried 5 different burners non write the media correctly.
Lite-on LH20A1H LLOD firm
Samsung TTSTCorp SH-203N, SH-203B (both with latest firmware)
Pioneer DVR-215D 1.18 firm
SonyNEC Optiarc AD-7200A-01

still trying 2 find an answer. Memorex techs say their burner burns this media but i dont think they know what they are talking about and i'm not ready 2 spend 99 buxs 2 find out..
any solutions would be appreciated. i tried adding using tools like mediacodespeed edit to modify (add) the S04-042 but no dice..
Is there any writer that burns this stuff?

all i see every where is people having the same problem..
