Not sure how Magic DVD Ripper gets around it but I have found out the following from the
PowerDVD help file ""When playing a video file (not on a disc), CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra searches for a subtitle file in the same directory where the video file is located. If a file is found, the subtitles are loaded and the
Subtitles option is enabled in the Express Menu.""
I have downloaded the VLC Media Player and this works perfectly!! and with your input so does WMP also. Shame that PowerDVD does not have the facility to turn the subtitle default off though seeing as I have bought it for the BluRay facility.
If any one knows how to stop PowerDVD from loading the subtitle automatically when playing from the Hard Drive please let me know.
