The OS doesn't come into it. I'm talking to the drive, not your OS. Drives have a set of commands (set out in the MMC specs) that you use and they're constant.
I ran out of IDE ports so it's going via an IDE -> USB adapter.
My version is 2.4.1.2 but I've not done anything that would fix this - because there's nothing to fix.

The fact stands, if it was a 'bug' it would be there for everyone... and quite simply, it's not.

You've got nothing to lose by just trying 2.4.1.0 with that 'DVD+R Reserve Track' option unticked on the next disc you'll be burning anyway.

Hell, you can probably even just enable it in 2.3.2.0 if you want. It'll tell me the same thing either way.
