| Re: ImgBurn 2.4.1.0 "Verify" error - discs dodged? You've sooo taken what I'm saying the wrong way.
It's pretty clear there's a problem - we both agree on that.
What I'm trying to get across to you is that whilst ImgBurn might be triggering the problem, the problem itself is with the drive. It's doing something it shouldn't be doing.
It's like when a machine crashes (blue screen of death). Ok so you might have just been trying to do something simple in an application but it's hit a bug in a lower level driver and the driver has then caused the OS to blue screen. It's not the application's fault, it's the drivers.
The same thing is happening here. I couldn't make your drive produce the coaster it's producing if I tried. It's making it all by itself. All I do is supply it with data to burn. The fact that the discs work fine in all your other drives only goes to back that up. The firmware in drives has bugs too you know, that's why they release new versions!
The 'DVD+R Reserve Track' option in the settings has been there for ages, it just wasn't enabled by default until recently. I enabled it because it appears to make Samsung drives less likely to error out at the finalisation stage when burning DVD+R media. If turns out that it's had a negative effect on your drive then all I can say is that I'm sorry.
It's 1 checkbox, just untick it. The settings are there because not all drives are created equal and sometimes you need to tailor them to suit your burner.
If you don't try it, you'll never know if that was or wasn't the cause.
By all means drop the whole thing after you've done that, I'm only here to try and help you. |
