Hi
Going home now and will check things once there. About this updating - i am not a person who always needs the "latest and greatest", if something works exactly the way it should i just want to keep it that way.
But then every time i used ImgBurn it came up with "New version is available, do you want to upgrade" and at some stage i had enough of that and clicked "yes".
And the problem started.
I will check my logs and stuff and post them here (i don't believe it to be the cables or IDE drivers, the latter being Microsoft originals anyway - yes, it's an Nvidia nForce chipset but those drivers didn't work well (LAN!) so i had Vista use it's own and all was well..... also the cables, they were new when i built the machine last year and i never took it apart since, so no movement on those cables that could somehow break them... of course, i appreciate the information.... let's see the log first, then i'll try the older version again (hope i still have it.......) and see if the problem persists - if not, now i know how to disable update checks
If yes.... umm.......... maybe get a new burner........ or something (i'll switch to Linux soon anyway).
Best regards.......
