Easy to jump to conclusions - would it help when i say that i had the machine overclocked since, err, a year? And the problem only occurred since, err, a few days, to be precise since i installed the new ImgBurn after i got fed up of it's constant nagging to upgrade?

Thanks for the hint where to find the log, i am not the "uber geek" who burns professionally or something, i just always collect so much data that my partition for that purpose fills and once it's full i burn the whole shebang to a stack of DVD's and start the cycle from new...... and, as mentioned, never had issues like this before.

Will check and post the log once i am at home (still at the office now).
