I have a Sony DVD Carousel player that is maybe 2+ years old which this was happening on. First, as I said in Apocalypto it was freezing on charpter 11 at the same exact point....then I realized I had "remove layer break" on during burn. This freeze happened on PC & Sony player. After I changed that setting the freeze which I think was DL change went away....PC & Sony Player went thru that point. However, on all discs there was another freeze at chapter 11 at 1:53:22.....exact same place. I've done 8X, 6X, 4X even with DVDFab using VSO, Nero, ImgBurn....also Nero Recode 2 direct.....and DVDShrink with Nero. I've done roughly 15 discs in various combos. I also have a year old Denon scaling DVD player.....all these freeze at same point on it. So, I summize it is not bad discs (like glitch on a disc) since the freeze is same exact point.....or the burners/engines (since I've tried a bunch)....or the players. I even used Recode 2 to burn a DVD-R single layer and no freezes anywhere. So, I was thinking it is the DVD+R DL compatiblity with my Sony player but you guys say they work fine so my only other thought is the discs themselves. These are FRY's Electornics own HQ store brand that was $27 for 25...on sale for $19.

Are you saying to buy other brand and try at 4X ?
Should I try DVD-R DL too ?
Why would it freeze at EXACT same point ?
Do you think DVDFab+ImgBurn or Nero is best ?


Really appreciate the help...any other thoughts or ideas to try welcome !!!
