I have always done a fresh install when doing this. Use the upgrade disc in DOS, and go through the installation. It will ask to show an instance of Win 98, at which time you simply take out the disc and insert the Win 98 disc and let it read it. It then will ask to put the Win 98 Upgrade disc back in and the install will continue. This install is much more satisfactory than doing it from windows.
