Hi, thanks for the advise. I use
WinDVD (4) to play the film and yes, I did use the main movie mode, not a dvd to mobile mode, as that does not work at all for me (the process does not complete and stops after copying about 3 minutes only)
I have ffdshow already, but will download VLC this evening, as you suggest
