Re: Introduce yourself: Say hi !

Good Evening Ladies & Gentlemen,
If there was ever a truer meaning of newbie, I am it. My computer knowledge leaves a lot to be desired. I know just enough about what I am doing to be dangerous so beware the demon when I start asking "stupid" questions.
I am soon to be 68 years old and retired. I spent 20 plus years in the USAF, another 20 years plus as a Napa Parts Store Manager. Been into computers since receiving my first as a gift in I believe 1989. That was a Commadore 128. Does that date me or what. Seems to rhymn with older than dirt. I retired in 2004 for the last time, moved from cold New York State to the great State of Texas an my wife of 50 years {next month) and I love it completely. I have a built-up pc that my son made, and a HP laptop. OPne of the early Pavilions.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it so beware of this ole vets questions. I have a library of 1300 dvds. Halh are new and paid for, the others are copies that I made to increase my personal usage. On a short and tight income, so we are very avid movie buffs. Use DVD Platinum, Shrink-It and Nero religiously and have very few problems. Love to hear the tech talk from you guys, it helps me convince myself I understand everything you are saying.
My best to you all and till the next time I remain Mike...............
