I have a SONY DVD recorder, RDR-HX750, and with this it's very simple to do what you want, without the need for any computer. Just record the shows on the recorder's hard disk, edit them (using the A-B cutting), and copy the resulting edited clips to a DVD.
I'm sure there are a lot of other DVD recorders that can do the same.
