Audio track disable problem

I always disable audio tracks for menus. I have done this often in the past and the size (number of mbs) of the menu is always reduced. However, I have just been trying to back up a dvd and when I disable audio tracks for menus (in VTS 1) the size (in mbs) of all menus in the VTS actually increases markedly (the size of the audio stream/track does down to nil)

If I then re-enable audio for the menus the size of the menus goes down markedly but the audio is then restored for the menus and (of course) goes up from nil to around 13 mbs.

I assume this has to be some sort of bug in DVDRemake. If audio is disabled that should surely automatically reduce the size of of the menu which it relates to just as if audio is re-enabled this should increase the size of the menu as well as the audio streams/tracks.
