Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden can be purchased online if not found in stores. As far as quality goes, these 2 are the most recommended around here. You can tell how good your burn is by doing a disc quality scan:

Isn't that the same drive? The B9S3 is the firmware version. You're updating to BS0Y version. Your drive is internal IDE right? You can also get the latest firmware from here:
