Noted. How can I find out (without bothering you) if a particular MID is considered to be good, bad or mediocre as I have no idea if Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden are available around here.?

I downloaded it, virus checked it, unzipped it and ran it - and it said that it was not for my drive. It said it was for LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S and that I had LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S B9S3 which it somehow seems to think is different.

No, I am using DVD-RW because that is one of the formats supported by my Samsung DVD Recorder. The others are DVD-R and DVD-RAM.
