Settlers VI - Tages DVD

Hi. I'm trying to copy Settlers VI - Rise of an empire, which is in DVD format. I have successfully created an image of the game using alcohol, which is absolutely playable from alcohol's virtual drive. The problem is, I want to be able to play it on my old laptop (which can be done, I've tried it with the original DVD, I only had to scale all graphics down), which has a very small HDD, so I tried to burn a DVD using the -successful- image, only to find that I can't! I always get a TAGES message asking for the original DVD. Can anyone tell me what's the problem and how can I resolve this? It's not crucial, but I hate the idea of having to have the original with me everytime I'm on the move and, more important maybe, I'm intrigued why can't I manage to do this?
