Re: DVDfab HDDecrypter in Linux

Heh heh, a ringing endorsement! Okay, but there won't be money until next month so "buy it now" is not an option. I would have bought it months ago but not if it wouldn't do a thing for me, which was the case when it wasn't working with Wine.

The directions regarding just not letting anything else access the dvd before DVDFab does is not in any way related to it not working before and working now in my case. It didn't work before whether I had something else access the dvd or not, and works now whether or not I allow something else to access it.

Something is just different about DVDFab, Wine, or the Linux distribution's setup that is now making it able to decrypt protected content.

I agree about supporting the work as a sign of appreciation and encouragement. I make it a point to do that when it is possible for me to do so. As an example, I have purchased two Linux distributions even though it wasn't a requirement. It's just a way of saying thanks and supporting further good stuff.

I'll be redoing my system soon as I want to change some hardware and software. I'll check out how the trial version of Platinum works when I'm done and make a decision at that time.
