For now Blu-Ray is finally going to have an ethernet port on its players.
HD-DVD players have had one all along. This allows the user to be able to fully interact with the disc and utilize all of the aspects of the menu. Also, Blu-Ray needs constant firmware updates to play new movies, which means most home users will not be able to figure this operation out. Also, updates are easier with an ethernet port, allowing connection to a PC, rather than burning the update to a disc and then flashing the player. It is not consumer friendly to have to update the stand alone player as often as DVD Decrypter just to play the movie you buy or rent.
