I just tried installing IBM DLA Version 4.95 but after running setup.exe, a popup window Entitlement Check - This update will only work with IBM recording hardware appeared. Setup would not proceed further. Any suggestions welcome here. Perhaps this version checks if DLA has been previously installed (even if later uninstalled) and accepts that.

Sonic DLA Version 4.95 from Dell support, installed without a problem and I look forward to testing it.

My PC is a Gigabyte GA-8IRM running XP Home SP2 with the latest Microsoft updates.

I tried various versions of Ahead InCD but when copying larger files (>100MB) to CD/DVD-RW the Copying... popup window would not go away even though copying appears to have successfully completed. The window would show 5sec or 10sec to go and then remain indefinately. It could however be closed so this was perhaps just an irritation. The poor reputation of InCD also means I'm keen to give it the flick.

Given the large number of users of the OEM versions of DLA the reliability or not of this packet writing solution for CD/DVD should be already known. I think I'll check some more forums.
