I disagree with that classification. CMC MAG. AM3 media can be pretty good, and I get very good burns with my HP branded CMC MAG. AM3 discs in some drives at speeds up to 12x. I woldn't burn those 16x rated discs at 2x unless I was absolutely sure the drive had a good write strategy at that speed, and most modern DVD burners are NOT optimized for burning 16x media at 4x and slower.

I'd burn them at 8x or 12x in most current drives.
