Burning Problem

I have an intermittent problem with burning DVDs - actually it's more a regular problem that intermittently doesn't occur.

I'm using DVD Fab Platinum with which I back up the DVD to my hard drive without a problem.

Then when I try to burn (via DVDFab Patinum) the movie to disc I get the problem. It just stops at a certain point - there's no error message, the program keeps running, but the percentage completed stays at at 4.9% or 60.37% or whatever it is and doesn't change. It would go on all night without changing if I left it.

I'm using Windows XP Home
The DVD player is a HL-DT-ST DVD-RW GCA-4080N
I'm not sure what the burner is - it just happens under the DVDFab page, but I have a Nero Express 6.3.1.6 on my computer. I also have listed under Device Managers: "VSO Devices" and "pccoufin device", if that means anything.

Any help would be appreciated. I'm going through a mountain of discs with a very small success rate at the moment.

Thanks
