You can view HD content through an analogue source such as VGA (D-SUB)
If you connect via hdmi or dvi and either the gfx card or monitor are not HD compliant then it wont work.
I have my media centre pc hooked up with an Asus 7600GT via HDMI to my Panasonic 42" plasma. It all works fine, picture is amasing

It should be interesting because my projector is hdcp compliant but my crt isnt, so Im expecting the projector to be able to display at full res, while my monitor while down convert.
Personally though, I think the hdcp on pcs will be cracked very very quickly, allowing us to view hd material at full res on pretty much any display providing it is capable of scaling to those high resolutions. |
