Only using the "Full Movie" mode does the translated english appear. I was using 321International's DVDXCopy 5.0 Platinum prior to switching over to DVDFab and their "Simple" mode still retained the translated dialog in english. This doesn't appear to be conected to selecting or deselecting the additional languages in the "Main Movie" splash screen. It would be a nice feature if this problem(?) could be resolved in a future release.
Thanks again for taking your product where others fear to go. |
Welcome to the forum! The problem with what I call the "translation subtitles" is that the way they are done has varied over time and is apparently still changing. With "Die Another Day" R1 for example, to get the english translation of the spoken korean, both the main english and the translation english subpicture streams must be selected for inclusion in DVDFab's subpicture window. It seems the translation subtitles are just a subset of the full english subtitle set and if the full set is not selected, no english subtitles appear. I suspect that this function is controlled from the IFO file for the main title VOBs but haven't looked to verify. This may be the case for the titles you mention as well. Think of Full Disc as Fab's "simple" mode. It processes all subpicture streams, so the translation subtitles will still appear. If you select the proper elements in the subpicture box, the should also be there for all the DVD-->DVD modes. They do not appear on my player automatically in some cases (with original disc or backup) and must be selected for diaplay manually. This is just my theory, but has held true for several recent releases.
