Depends, obviously a good HDTV is a must with these formats (would be stupid to buy into them with just a regular set), of course if you already have one then it isn't that big of an investment. A good HDMI cable is a must and trust me when I say that most cheap HDMI cables that come with the players simply won't give you what you are looking for. Warner Brothers have annouced that all of their next gen discs will be dual format (
HD DVD and Blu-Ray on one disc), As has already been annouced there is a dual format player/burner on the market now. I still say now is NOT the time to buy into the technology. Let them figure out how to bypass the copy protection completely and then let's see burners come down in price and then see where we are at. Dual Format seems to be the way of the future though.
