good luck with that...i had that power calib. issue(not with vsa app but with nero) and later i found out that my dvd drive was going bad...1st it was the power calib. error and then it stopped reading cd-r's but it read dvds just fine...i was told that the laser uses more power to burn cd-r's than dvd's and thats why my dvd writer/reader still worked...eventually it wouldnt even read the data on cd-r's needless to say or write,etc....
i did some adjustments,etc,etc which were just temp fixes...
