Re: Make backup of DVD navigation disc

Hello,

As you can see this is also my 1st post. I am also looking forward to being informed. I'm currently have been trying to backup my dvd: Navteq 05064033AD from my 2004 Jeep that I just bought just to find out that someone has sat on the dvd and it was cracked, cracked dvd don't work so well in the rb1 units. After trying to find another disk and not wanting to pay the $150.00 to $200.00 they all wanted for when I saw some on that E***.com but they all said be sure and don't by a copy of the dvd and to get one in the oem case not opened. LONG STORY SHORT I bought one, It worked fine. I thought I wanted to make a copy and use it and pot the other away, I have 2 or 3 dl burners but I had no disks. I got some Memorex DVD + R DL and went to work. I tried to copy from disk to disk at next to the slowest speed 2.4 I think. No luck coaster #1, next I copied from disk to hard drive and made an iso and did all that booking I read about, coaster #2. as I was writing this I took a better look at the disks I was using, and they say RW and RECORDABLE on them. Are they what I think they are? Can I write over them again? In searching the web I found a download for 05064033AE the new disk 7.XX gb long email or pm me on that. I couldn’t get to work ether. You all know that when you put a updated dvd in your rb1 it changes the firmware not to be changed back again, don't you? so if you were to try someone’s dvd newer than yours your old dvd won't work in yours again, I think. The bar code on the center of the disk has nothing to do with it... I also don’t the dvds have any protection system on them.....
Lets keep trying I know we find the way.

Thanks
