A package from my ISP (anti-virus, firewall, anti-spyware, popup/ad-blocker etc), which despite being free, works very well for me - as Cressida said, coupled with a good dose of common-sense.

On my mum's PC...Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0, and ZoneAlarm Free. Again, works well.

Edit: Hehe, passed all the firewall tests in Dean's link above. Not bad.
