Very sorry if this has been asked before but the search tool wasn't really working properly! Also sorry if this is the wrong forum! But anyway. Basically i have a Dell 5100 PC and a Sony DAV-DZ100 DVD player. As it stands i'm using the DVD player to play music off my PC. I occasionally watch DVD's on the PC and use the DVD player to provide sound, but use the built in DVD player on the PC to provide the picture. I'm fairly sure i'm losing sound quality by doing it this way.

Ultimately i'd like to know if there's a way to connect the DVD player directly to the PC so that the monitor acts like a TV screen. This way i'll be using the DVD player to provide the picture and the sound, and so no sound quality will be lost.

Is there a relatively cheap and easy way for me to do this? I appreciate your help.
