| Re: Edit movie - Adding effects - Joining two clips supapete, while i agree with you that premiere is a valuable and semi-professional level tool, for people who are interested more in throwing some videos together with simple transitions and probably won't continue on to serious editing projects, it's not worth the time necessary to learn it.
i've been working with premiere for about 5 years now (since I was 16) and I'm sure there's still tons of stuff i don't know how to do.
for the basic functionality that the original poster requested, i don't think it would be a detriment to their project to use a more basic program.
using a professional program by no means implies that you'll get a professional result. i have no doubt that someone very experienced and comfortable with even a simple program like windows moviemaker will produce a better quality project than someone who is unsure of themeselves and uncomfortable with using premiere.
