Hello,
I stumbled upon this post last night and thought I'd contribute. At $200 per each Rosetta Stone CD, I wasn't willing to risk scratching my original discs. So I appreciate Pres-Sean's (#2) detailed steps how to backup the discs. But in my case the language program crashed when I inserted the burned backup CD.
Here are my modifications to Pres-Sean's steps:
1. Install Alcohol 120% with the latest devsupp.exe (2.5.1.1709 as of this writing).
2. Use Alcohol 120% to make an ISO image using the following options:
Datatype: SafeDisc 2/3
[X] Skip reading erros
[X] Fast skip error blocks
Ignore "bad sector" error messages. Wait approximately 30 minutes, depending on your processor and CD-ripper speed.
3. Mount the new image with the latest Daemon Tools. Do NOT USE Alcohol's CD-mount emulation. Rosetta Stone's internal SafeDisc4 protection will sniff-out Alcohol CD emulation.
4. Run SD4hide (SafeDisc4 Hider 1.0 by SKULL) and click "Hide."
5. Run "Rosetta Stone Language" program from the mounted CD image.
6. Relax and Enjoy.
