To skip blank frames, enable Auto Bypass under Tools/Options menu.

To completely remove unwanted clip, you would delete it rather than hide/blank it. But then you must adjust navigational commands. If you're not familiar with DVD commands, then don't use this approach. Hiding would be fine.
