I even tried it on my new BenQ 1655 and exact same results ... the disc won't read in the car navigation system.

So unless someone figures out the encryption it will be hard to make a backup of these discs.
Hmm.. this is bad news. So, you're still able to copy older Zenrin DVDs? I'm hoping the new Navteq DVDs aren't protected either. It really doesn't seem like it though. Unless they've designed their older drives to support some sort of special copy-protection, they're really limited on what they can do to protect the discs.

Anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. Ken830, try burning DVD-R and let me know.

Fast 330ci,

Thanks for the good news. Now, let me clarify. Since you removed two files, did you just copy the remaining files/folders? Using something like Nero to burn the remaining files/folders as a regular data disc? I'll give it a try tomorrow (later today, since it's like 3am) and will let you know.

BTW, aLL dual/double-layer drives burn discs at OTP. There's just no way around it. That's all we have at the moment. It may or may not be the culprit, but since others have been successful before, I'm hoping that it's not.
