Ken830,
Somewhat good news, I thought I give it a try, I burned partial NAV DVD using regular DVD-R (4.7GB), I removed just enough files to make it fit, two files were removed, POI and STR extensions. These files are for point of interest and street name files ~2.8GB.
Guess what, it works, the backup DVD loaded correctly and there are a couple things I cannot do, i.e. serching for address, places and also the street name doesn't show up either because the STR file was removed. The GPS works fine tracking the street on the map correctly.
Apparently, the disc has no protection, this led me to believe the problem is probably the media. One thing I noticed from the burned DVD-R disc is that the burning surface looks much smoother than the DVD+R DL.
Next step is to try the DVD-R DL like you indicated on the last thread. I found 3 pack Verbatim DVD-R DL for ~ $18, see link below.

Also one other thing I noticed between original NAV DVD and burned DVD+R DL is the track path, original DVD is Parallel Track Path (PTP) and the backup DVD+R DL is Opposite Track Path (OTP). Does anyone know if this could be the culprit? Anybody who has the DVD-R DL, can you please confirm if it is PTP or OTP? The burned DVD-R is PTP like the original DVD, this could be coincident.
Anybody has any suggestions, please let me know. Ken830, try burning DVD-R and let me know.
Thx, Fast330ci
