In support of what has been said, I have two identical cheapo DVD players I won in a competition (the type which cost little more than a DVD film itself) and despite the box and instructions saying they are Region 2 PAL I was pleasantly surprised to find they will play NTSC disks from any region as well. I just accept the fact as a bonus.

A program like Nero can do NTSC/PAL conversions, but it does take a time to convert a film...
