I remember flashing with a Mad Dog firmware when I first got the drive. I haven't touched it before attempting to copy the Nav disc. Just now, I upgraded it to 1.03 from the firmware page (
http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2109). I couldn't get the Mad Dog 1.F1 f/w to flash. I get a "Target NEC ND-3540A is not found correctly" message.
DVD Decrypter says the booktype change was a "success." Not sure if that means it really worked or not. After writing the disc, DVD Decrypter reports:

Does that mean the book type was set properly or not? Now, I'm not sure. I'll try to find the WinBTypeV2.exe utility.
